Now that we’ve had the pallet itself prepared and we have the weight and dims the first things we’re going to do is create a lineage of forms. The first form is going to be our label. The label is, when you’re preparing this label for shipping to your customer, when you’re having it being prepared to be shipped to you. It’s going to have the information of where’ it’s being shipped to and where it’s being shipped from and you want to put down how many pallets you’re shipping and on each pallet how many cases or units you have. The next form that you’re going to have is you bill of ladings. For those of you that are not familiar with bill of ladings this is a form that shows you are shipping something, for the department of transportation and for your own purposes. It gives you information on where you’re shipping from, where you’re shipping to. Lot of detailed information about classification, a lot of information about weight and dimensions, the commodity you’re shipping. This is a lot of things that you need in order to figure out what is going to be the rates that you’re going to be paying for the shipments.
Finally, when the customer or the shipping company comes to pick it up we have our pick up confirmation. This lets us know that it was picked up by either a customer or by a driver and the merchandise has been accounted for and that the customer and the shipping customer knows that they picked up everything. That says that it’s going to be picked up by pallets, by boxes, by units and that you have a signature. These are the three forms that you are going to see when you’re doing shipping.
